Whiskeys for sales meeting in Oslo _ Ardbeg 10 / 12 Yr _Macallan 12 yr

After a long day in a salesmeeting, I can really recommend one to enjoy a glass or two quality single malt Scotch! This time I was also very lucky to have our company master-sales trainer with me, and he happens to be quite an expert on whisky too.

The hotel lobby bar was bit limited on selection, but we managed to find few to test.

Ardbeg 10 yr, Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 46% ABV
is the ever-peaty, ever-popular core expression of the Ardbeg range.
In 2008, whisky expert Jim Murray named it ‘World Whisky of the Year’.
This whisky is non chill-filtered. Smell contains creosote, tar and smoked
fish. Sweetness of the first bite dries to smoky end flavour.

Personally I have not been so big fan of  smoky whiskies so far, but
this time the taste was actually very nice and smooth. Maybe
I´m learnig something?

Ardbeg  "conoisseur?" 12 yr, Isaly Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

This one was even more smooth than the previous, with additional  hint of liquerish taste.
Unfortunately I did not have picture of the bottle, and the name of the whisky might be wrong -
apologies!
